Just when you thought the news about the Obama administration couldn't get any worse, gun owners find themselves needing to rally the troops once again.
This time it's the proposed "Regulatory Czar" who will be coming to a vote this week in the U.S. Senate.
Just a couple of hours ago, I sent out an email regarding Obama's speech to our children next week on Tuesday, September 8. In order to address all of the responses I've received so far (and they were very thoughtful and inquisitive), I'll attempt to provide as much information as possible with what is currently available to us.
One question I received pertained to whether or not the Clinton administration was as bad as this one. The answer is no. Clinton at least had an understanding of the people. This president does not; hence so many czars to make policy on topics in which they have no schooling.
OPEN LETTER TO MICHAEL STEELE AND THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE On
the first page of your website you have a section that says something
to the effect, “tell me what you think.” OK, here it is. How much
longer do “we the people” have to sit out here and wait for you to do
something? Where is your voice? Where is your spine? Why does a talk
show host/entertainer have to do your job? Where is the leadership of
the Republican Party in Congress?
If the United States of
America survives past 2009 it will certainly not be because the RNC and
the congressional leadership stood firm and held news conferences and
produced youtube videos, to keep us, the citizenry informed. What a sad
state of affairs when the media controls what we get to hear from you,
the elected officials. Are you fearful of what they will call you? Have
you no power? Do they own you?
The chart to the right shows the healthcare system that is being proposed in Washington this week. I know that in company meetings in the past, the minute someone pulled out a flow chart, my eyes glossed over. This flowchart is a headache waiting to happen, though it's important to take a minute to review.
Look at how COMPLEX the proposed system is and contrast this with the what we have now. I don't know about you, but this is NOT THE ANSWER! There is no way this BUREAUCRACY is going to be cheaper or MORE EFFICIENT!! Don't be fooled that this is going to cheapen your costs and make life better.

I enjoy cooking several times a week when I have time. I've especially been excited to try new recipes that can be prepared from our garden. Yesterday I came across a new iPhone app called Epicurious that will make this process even easier. This app intrigued me as it was not only a list of recipes but it also provided a shopping list (broken up by areas of the grocery store) to simplify the purchase of ingredients.
Right now we've got lots of tomatoes and onions that have been harvested, so I used my new app to find a recipe that would appeal to the entire family. Corn-and-Tomato Scramble is the recipe that I chose this time around. This recipe is meant to be served cold so make sure you leave plenty of time before your meal for preparation. Our family (12, 7, and my wife and I) all give this one a BIG thumbs up and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
