Stop Obama's Health Care Plan.
Do you live in one of these states?
Alaska – Arkansas – Colorado – Connecticut – Indiana – Louisiana - Montana – Nebraska – Virginia
Then you need to call your Senator today… here’s why:
When the full Senate takes up health care in the next few weeks,
the Democrats need 60 votes to pass the bill. As it stands now, they
have those 60 votes!

Those of you who watch Glenn Beck have no doubt taken notes on this one. Cass Sunstein. Lets get busy and call our senators and spread the word about this vote!
Just when you thought the news about the Obama administration couldn't get any worse, gun owners find themselves needing to rally the troops once again.
This time it's the proposed "Regulatory Czar" who will be coming to a vote this week in the U.S. Senate.

Good evening, everyone.
Just a couple of hours ago, I sent out an email regarding Obama's speech to our children next week on Tuesday, September 8. In order to address all of the responses I've received so far (and they were very thoughtful and inquisitive), I'll attempt to provide as much information as possible with what is currently available to us.
One question I received pertained to whether or not the Clinton administration was as bad as this one. The answer is no. Clinton at least had an understanding of the people. This president does not; hence so many czars to make policy on topics in which they have no schooling.

PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OPEN LETTER TO MICHAEL STEELE AND THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE
On
the first page of your website you have a section that says something
to the effect, “tell me what you think.” OK, here it is. How much
longer do “we the people” have to sit out here and wait for you to do
something? Where is your voice? Where is your spine? Why does a talk
show host/entertainer have to do your job? Where is the leadership of
the Republican Party in Congress?
If the United States of
America survives past 2009 it will certainly not be because the RNC and
the congressional leadership stood firm and held news conferences and
produced youtube videos, to keep us, the citizenry informed. What a sad
state of affairs when the media controls what we get to hear from you,
the elected officials. Are you fearful of what they will call you? Have
you no power? Do they own you?

I read over the weekend a Bloomberg Article that discussed the job market and Washington's plans to fix it. To quote a portion of the article,
"The average American is ill-prepared for a lengthy spell of
unemployment, said van Dijk. Households reduced their savings in the
last expansion -- putting aside less than 1 percent of disposable
income in 2005-2006, compared with an average 6 percent the previous 30
years -- and thus didn’t have much in reserve."
Not being financially prepared is a huge issue for most Americans today.

First Year Learning
About 14 months ago (May '08), I realized that I was seriously lacking in many of the skills necessary to provide for my family in the event that our personal economy or the economy as a whole would take a turn for the worse. Though it was late in the season here in Texas, I built a raised bed garden on the side of our house and began to plant. Needless to say, the garden produced very little aside from some lettuce and small carrots. The lack of success was due to timing, but also due to my lack of commitment to the project (I put a timer on the sprinkler and waited for the plants to grow). While the results from last year were disappointing, this step did however put us in a position for success this year!
